DESCRIPTION

Water and water system sanitiser for fatteners. Suitable for use in water systems of poultry houses, piggeries, cattle stalls, sheep housing and horse stables.

Interaqua® is suitable for use in water systems of poultry houses, piggeries, cattle stalls, sheep housing and horse stables.

Tests show >99.99% reduction in E.coli bacteria, Enterococcus faecium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa after 1 hour using a 0.2% – 0.3% solution of Interaqua.

Regular use of Interaqua to sanitize the water troughs or water systems during the end of cycle cleaning in the empty animal housing using a 1% dilution will remove biofilm, bacteria and also limescale in hard water areas.

Successful drinking water sanitization is achieved through using a short concentrated treatment, rather than lengthy applications at lower concentrations. Interaqua was developed to be efficacious and safe at higher dose levels, avoiding the harmful effects sometimes seen with other products e.g. Hydrogen Peroxide based products at higher dose levels.

Some Propionic, or Sorbic acid based water treatments have poor disinfectant qualities, and must therefore be added in high concentrations making them unpalatable and also corrosive to certain types of water systems.

Interaqua keeps water at pH 2 – 3 without affecting the animal’s water intake.

IMPORTANT:

The uses of the product may change from country to country, dependent on local rules and regulations.

Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

1. Water system (empty housing – header tank)
1% INTERAQUA® solution (100ml of product added per 10 litres water)

Header tank system:

♦ Drain down the water system, physically clean header tank removing any debris and sediment then disinfect with 1% Interaqua.
♦ Refill the system with1% Interaqua to the required volume (as a guide approximately 200ml is required per metre of nipple line).
♦ Open the end taps of the drinker lines.
♦ Flush through until Interaqua appears at the line end.
♦ Turn off the line end taps leaving the system to disinfect for 24 hours.
♦ After the disinfection process has been completed, care should then be taken to flush the system thoroughly prior to re-stocking the poultry house in order to remove remaining disinfectant, microorganism
debris and remains of any bio-film.

2. Water system (empty housing – proportioner)

1% INTERAQUA® solution (100ml of product added per 10 litres water)
Water proportioner (such as Dosatron®):

♦ Calculate the required volume of water need to fill the system.
♦ Set the proportioner to 2%
♦ Dilute Interaqua 1:2 with in a small plastic drum and ensure the water supply to the proportioner is turned on.
♦ Open the end taps of the drinker lines.
♦ Flush through until Interaqua appears at the line end.
♦ Turn off the line end taps leaving the system to disinfect for 24 hours. After the disinfection process has been completed, care should then be taken to flush the system thoroughly prior re-stocking the poultry
house in order to remove remaining disinfectant, micro-organism debris and remains of any bio-film.

3. Drinking water (occupied housing)

0.1% Interaqua® solution (100ml of product added per 100 litres water)

Successful water disinfection is achieved through using a short treatment and high product concentration, rather than lengthy applications at lower concentrations. Interaqua® was developed to be efficacious and
safe at higher dose levels, avoiding the harmful effects sometimes seen with other products e.g. Hydrogen Peroxide based products at higher dose levels.

Some Propionic, or Sorbic acid based water treatments have poor disinfectant qualities, and must therefore be added in high concentrations making them unpalatable and also corrosive to certain types of water
systems. Interaqua keeps water at pH 2 – 3 without affecting the animal’s water intake.

The dosage programme and product concentration depends largely on the problems faced on the farm, therefore a range of treatment options have been developed using a 0.1% – 0.3% solution:

Preventative/maintenance treatment:

♦ 2 – 3 day application course: to remove bio-film and micro-organisms. The treatment should be administered just prior to periods where problems have been experienced in previous flocks, or
routinely at about 2 weeks of age.
♦ 1 day application course: following administration of vitamin supplements to remove bio-film and reduction of micro-organisms.

Specific treatment (chronic infections):

♦ 1 – 2 week application course: to remove chronic bacterial, fungal, algal infections. Once the drinking water has been treated using this programme, only routine preventative /maintenance
treatments are required.

Disinfectants and Biological products

If live vaccines or probiotics or live bacterial vaccines are to be administered orally to the flock, care should be taken to avoid treating drinking water with Interaqua a minimum of 1 and preferably 3 days prior to their
administration. In addition Interaqua should only be re-introduced into the drinking water 3 days post treatment.

Water disinfectants and the use of water soluble “blue dye”

In order to optimise the administration of Interaqua at the end-of-cycle it is useful to add an approved “blue dye” to the disinfectant. This will help ensure that the system is initially filled with disinfectant, and later show that the system is fully drained.
